Update of the PROMESS training repository, January 2020
With 6 months to go before the end of phase 1 of the PROMESS project, the start of 2020 provides an opportunity to take stock of the training repository with the team and trainers.
Modules 1, Upgrade, and 2, Home Photovoltaic Systems, are gradually being completed. The sequences are now clearly established, the syllabuses have been finalized and are being reviewed, while the theoretical course materials still need to be revised and harmonized.
The emphasis is now on strengthening practical work, with the development of a detailed methodology for the implementation of practical work, tutored projects and school projects. This methodology was reinforced by the training of trainers by Lazare Fesnien, seconded by PVsyst, in charge of technical support and training. In particular, he has worked on :
- Training in the quality control of installations carried out as part of training courses, including fault diagnosis methodology,
- Training in the organization and pedagogy of practical work,
- Training in the use of technical software (technical drawing, dimensioning, etc.) and its integration as a training aid in theoretical and practical courses.
The training of trainers also provided an opportunity to rework the assessment process for learners at the end of Module 2, reinforcing the theoretical tests (MCQs and case studies) and practical tests (installation and operation of a PV system, presentation to a panel of judges). A full-scale test was carried out with learners who had completed their training.
Module 3, on larger photovoltaic systems and specializations in pumping, hybridization and injection, is currently under development. The first version should be operational in June 2020, for review and sharing with trainers, before being rolled out to interested learners from September 2020.
