The PVSYST Foundation
Initiated in 2014 and created 2015, based in Satigny, Switzerland, is non-profit and intervenes in developing countries
-
The PVSYST Foundation aims to
Creating the conditions for sustainable development and empowering people in developing countries
-
The PVSYST Foundation wishes to
Work with individuals, associations, companies and local authorities whose actions are intended to improve the situation of local populations.
Innovating and sustainably improving access to basic services in developing countries
Promoting sustainable development in developing countries, in particular through the use of renewable energies
Improving access to technical training and promoting capacity-building for populations in developing countries
A partnership with the PVSYST Foundation means :
The philosophy of the PVSYST Foundation is to create the conditions for local, localized development:
- Local, through the desire to develop or strengthen systems based on the needs and resources of the areas in which we operate.
- Localized by cooperating with locally-based organizations (associations, foundations, companies, target populations, public services, etc.).
The Foundation pays particular attention to the technical quality of the projects it implements, and can provide one-off support or technical monitoring in a variety of ways:
- Either through the involvement of professionals from PVsyst, a leading company in the field of renewable energies, particularly solar and photovoltaic energy.
- Or by helping to identify and finance external expertise
The Foundation provides financial support for selected projects, in the form of
- Technical assistance, on a specific theme or territory (support for the structuring of companies, setting up training courses)
- Investment support, via the acquisition of equipment and/or infrastructure in support of an operational partner, in addition to or in support of technical assistance.
- Support for essential project implementation functions
- Support in the search for alternative financing and partnerships to ensure the long-term viability of the initiatives.
For example, the PVSYST Foundation is supporting the PROMESS project in Senegal with funding of CHF 100,000 over 2 years.
Convinced of the importance of the "time" factor in maximising the impact of its actions on the populations concerned and ensuring their sustainability, the Foundation is able to build its partnerships over the long term. Funding cycles of 2 years can be renewed depending on :
- The quality of implementation, as assessed by the evaluation of the previous phase
- The needs identified
- The definition of exit strategies
- Tangible elements to ensure sustainability
These various components of the PVSYST Foundation's partnership approach are designed to create the conditions that will enable the activities and systems implemented to continue after the project has ended. For projects currently underway, this ambition would take the form of :
- Access to employment or business start-ups for training students
- Structuring markets for entrepreneurs involved in energy efficiency projects
- Securing long-term financing solutions for less well-off households
- Developing the technical skills of installers/craftsmen
The philosophy of the PVSYST Foundation is to create the conditions for local, localised development:
- Local, through the desire to develop or strengthen systems based on the needs and resources of the areas in which it operates.
- Local by cooperating with organisations that are anchored locally (associations, foundations, businesses, target populations, public services, etc.).
